The Issue of White Guilt for Slavery & Pre 1964 Racism

On a Facebook Page in October 2025 I saw a post with the following which I screenshotted:

I wrote a comment on the post that said:

The video clip I mentioned is from the Total Life Christian Missionary Baptist Church Sabbath Service on October 4, 2025. That clip is below:

A screenshot of responses to my comment are below as of the time I am writing article:

Some other comments made not in response to my comment but made on the main post are provided below:

In the above, based on an analysis of the people Facebook profile including photos, the above people who made comments are Whitish other than Alejandra. Therefore, one can see how the comments seem to fall along racial divides which is unfortunately typical for social media and off social media though I have at times observed cross overs.

For all but Edward, Jon, and David, and Linda I certainly understand and agree with their comment. However, I do so with the understanding that although no alive person should be held responsible or guilty for what dead people did, I do hold that all alive people no matter the skin color have a biblical responsibility under the love thy neighbor as thyself principle of Matthew 22:39 to help correct the large scale government sanctioned and in some cases government performed injustices of the past. As for Linda I did not say anything about reparations. Indeed, reparations is one of those undecided things for me. I tend to think reparations in the form of monetary payments to descendants of slaves is a complex issue. For example, determination of who are descendants of slaves and how much to give is problematic. Moreover, initiatives such as welfare and affirmative action programs were a kind of reparations though insufficient.
