The below document shows how active the Christian church was in fighting to end slavery. It demonstrates not all Whites was for slavery and/or at least some of those who was for it repented.
This event like the letter by Federick Douglas letter on Independence Day dated 1852 both came before the abolishment of slavery and were both part of the fight against slavery and both undoubtedly contributed to the end of slavery in America.
Let individuals as we are gifted however small or great and churches especially ministers continue to fight for righteous equity/equality for descendants of slaves and all people in America.
Let us do so by not holding those alive today accountable for evil of yesteryear but holding them and us Blacks and all people of all skin colors responsible to contribute in righteous voice and action to correct and rebuke injustices of today against any person.
It is this repentant spirit of fellow Americans past and present that makes me proud to be a Black Christian American and which propels me to speak and stand against racism no matter what skin color it shows up in. I detest both White Racist/Supremacy and Black Racism/Supremacy.
