After a recent lecture at Union Temple Baptist Church in Washington, White Christian media purposely misused his words to suggest he had “just found Jesus.”

“At the end of my talk I said: ‘I know that my redeemer liveth. And I said, because he lives, I too shall live, and will stand with him at the latter day,” said Min. Farrakhan.

Since 1981 the core of the teaching of Minister Farrakhan has been his and our “Jesus—the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad” is alive and is in control of the forces of nature, and that Mr. Muhammad, and Master Fard Muhammad—Allah in Person—are both backing and protecting the Minister’s every step.

While the Muslim leader recognizes that many find his message of separation “unbelievable”—such as Black intellectual Dr. Cornel West, who told the Minister separation is “a pipe dream”—he remains steadfast to separation as God’s solution to America’s race problem.

The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad is the “real Jesus,” Minister Farrakhan declared, and an ovation erupted in the auditorium, when Mr. Muhammad’s picture was then displayed on a screen for the audience to see. “Before too long, you too will bear witness,” the Minister said.

—Excerpt from the above Final Call article ends:

From the above Farrakhan makes it clear that his Jesus is the one they call the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. His Jesus is not the biblical Jesus.

I was told that Minister Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam considers the biblical Jesus as the “historical Jesus”; but, as I understand it, they consider the Elijah Muhammad and perhaps Wallace D. Fard (predecessor to Elijah Muhammad) to be the prophetic Jesus’s. Hence, they establish two Jesus, one historical and one prophetic. However, Christians consider there is only one Jesus, the same one is historical and prophetic. In fact, the biblical New Testament Jesus fulfilled all of the prophecies concerning the Messiah (Saviour of the Soul from sin) or will do so at the end time.

Minister Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam seem to make the same mistake that the Jewish leaders of the New Testament days made and even unto this day: They were/are looking for the Messiah to come to set up an earthly kingdom and become an earthly king and reestablish man back into the Garden of Eden from which he was kicked out and all of the toils and snares that come with being kicked out. But Jesus came to pay the price for human sin while here in the flesh on earth. He will not restore man (at least fully so) back into the Garden of Eden in Heaven until he returns the second time. In the meantime, God sends messengers to aid in humans dealing with sin and the effects of sin here on earth. So then any messenger from God before and after Jesus is not the historical nor prophetic Jesus but rightly characterized as a messenger of God as was Isaiah, Moses, etc. before Jesus and the apostles/evangelists, etc. after Jesus.

One should be aware of Paul’s warning in 2 Cor 11:1-4 to beware of those who come preaching another Jesus.

For more information on Islam see the article entitled Why Not Islam

The purpose of the article is to present the relevant facts regarding the question at hand with respect to the speech Louis Farrakhan gave at Union Temple Baptist Church in Washington D.
