{"id":282,"date":"2017-08-20T17:49:39","date_gmt":"2017-08-20T17:49:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cbm2.cbehs.com\/?p=282"},"modified":"2017-08-20T17:49:39","modified_gmt":"2017-08-20T17:49:39","slug":"unwiseunnecessary-to-counterprotest-in-proximity-to-protesters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/totallifeinsight.com\/tli\/blog\/unwiseunnecessary-to-counterprotest-in-proximity-to-protesters\/","title":{"rendered":"Unwise\/Unnecessary to Counterprotest in Proximity to Protesters"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"id_5996c743147f33158976672\" class=\"text_exposed_root text_exposed\">\n<h6>Unwise\/Unnecessary to Counterprotest in Proximity to Protesters<\/h6>\n<p><span class=\"text_exposed_show\">It seems to me that it is both unwise and unnecessary to have counter-protests on the same day at the same time in the same vicinity of a protest!&nbsp; Governments should issue permits to both requesting sides; but, permits should not be issued in a way in which interference and conflict is likely to occur.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span class=\"text_exposed_show\">I<\/span>t seems that protest against a protest could be effectively done on another day in proximity to the protest of which one is against,&nbsp; If done on the same day where there is an overlapping timeframe then it should at least be done at a location far enough away from the protest that physical interference does not occur.<\/p>\n<p>When government authorities allow protesters and counterprotesters to encounter each other there is a risk that violence will occur.&nbsp; In Charlottesville, violence did occur.<\/p>\n<p>In Dallas (South Dallas), Texas in April 2016 there was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/news\/2016\/04\/02\/tense-anti-mosque-protest-draws-armed-demonstrators-in-south-dallas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">protest<\/a> reportedly against a Nation of Islam Mosque by a group composed of mostly black people showed up. Both sides wore protected gear and were armed.&nbsp; It ended peacefully when the protesters decided to leave.
