{"id":11258,"date":"2025-02-04T21:10:00","date_gmt":"2025-02-05T03:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.totallifeinsight.com\/cbewptli\/?p=11258"},"modified":"2025-06-20T21:03:56","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T21:03:56","slug":"exploring-godly-eeo-dei","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/totallifeinsight.com\/tli\/blog\/exploring-godly-eeo-dei\/","title":{"rendered":"Exploring Godly EEO\/DEI"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><br>Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Diversity Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategies are important to achieving fair and reasonable love thy neighbor as thyself (Matthew 22:39) <strong>godly<\/strong> goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I think useful to the DEI discussion is an interview by Roland Martin with Sylvester Turner who was Mayor of Houston, Texas at the time. Mr. Turner later became Congressman Turner representing Texas as a member of the US House of Representatives. On March 5th, 2025 it was reported that Congressman Turner had died a few hours after attending the Joint Speech to Congress by President Trump earlier on the evening of March 4th, 2025. In this interview I think the discussion captures some of the goals and reasons for some form of DEI that is fair and reasonable for closing the wealth gap between Black descendants of slaves in America and White descendants of slave masters and slavery benefactors without harming Americans who are not descendants of Black slaves in America. The YouTube video is a replay of the interview did in 2023. Mr. Martin did the replay in remembering Congressman Turner contribution to Houston, the state of Texas, and the America in general. The video link starting at the portion of interest is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/rxZPOMUItjs?si=7_HvojjRqxTnCCwn&amp;t=7740\">here<\/a> and the portion of interest here runs for about 30 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Target Corporation headquartered in the city where George Floyd died while encountering police in 2020 announced its commitment to Black Americans and others so as to improve their slice of the Targe socio-economic enabling pie.
