On Heaven and Hell

We have from childhood heard about going to heaven being better than going to hell.

Heaven is that place of eternal life, hell of eternal death.

Heaven is that place of eternal rewards for the righteous, hell of eternal anguish, regret, punishment, and torment, by unceasing fire for the wicked.

Heaven is that place of no more pain but rather much pleasure.

Heaven is that place of no more sadness and sorrow but rather much joy and happiness.

Heaven is that place of no more lack but rather plenty of what we righteously desire and need.

Jesus speaks of taking his disciples to Heaven. For in John 14:1 he says: in

In Matthew 10 Jesus speaks of Hell. For In Matthew 10:28 he says: And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

There Jesus says we are not to fear Satan or his demons. We are not to fear other humans. Instead we are to fear God. We are not to fear God so as to try and run from him but rather like a child who runs to his or her parents, we are to run to God. For as David says no matter where we go we cannot escape God.

For in Psalms 139: 7-18 David says:

(7)  Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
(8)  If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
(9)  If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
(10)  Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
(11)  If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
(12)  Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
(13)  For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
(14)  I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
(15)  My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
(16)  Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
(17)  How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
(18)  If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

From David we can see how much our all powerful ever present all knowing God is in control. From Jesus we can ascertain that God created Hell and will not only send Satan and his demons to it but will also send humans to Hell.

So let us attend to the whole counsel of God. Let, us love God first and foremost, love ourselves, and love others as we love ourselves. Let us embrace cool heaven avoiding fiery hell. Let us look to Jesus as our Saviour on the cross. Let us also hear and attend to Jesus words in John 14:15 when he says if you love me keep my commandments. Let our have a godly attitude of loving repentant faith for attitude affects altitude.

In Revelation 21:1, John writes: And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

People debate whether Heaven will be “up there” or down here on earth. Well, no matter where Heaven will be I want to be there for all eternity worshipping and serving my Creator God in heavenly bliss.
